Abstract

The purpose of this writing is to find out the role of Ibn Sina both in terms of biography, life and in the world of Islamic education and also to discover the relevance of Ibn Sina's thoughts to education in Indonesia in this modern era. This research method uses descriptive qualitative which uses a type of literature study by collecting data through text literature, both books, journals and articles related to the discussion. The results of the research show that Ibn Sina, as a philosopher, great scientist and education expert, Ibn Sina had ideas about educating children, especially paying attention to moral education in children. Ibn Sina had structured thinking in terms of objectives, curriculum, learning methods, and teachers or educators which are factors in several determinant elements in education. Ibn Sina's thought seeks to form human beings who are human beings, namely people who have potential within themselves in a balanced and comprehensive manner. Ibn Sina's perspective on Islamic education is seen as relevant even though his thoughts regarding education are not from the modern era. Therefore, Ibn Sina's thoughts have become an important reference in advancing the world of education.
