This classroom-based research aims to improve student learning outcomes in the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) course, specifically in the topic of zakat, through the application of the role-play learning model. The study was conducted in five first-semester classes of the Agribusiness Study Program at Banyuwangi state polytechnic, involving a total of 126 students. The research adopts a classroom action research (CAR) approach carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The role-play themes assigned to student groups included: the wisdom of zakat, how to calculate zakat, and the consequences of neglecting zakat obligations. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments, as well as documentation of class activities. The results showed a significant increase in the average student scores from 54.81 in the pretest, to 73.45 after the first cycle, and 86.76 after the second cycle. These findings suggest that the role-play method is effective in deepening conceptual understanding, encouraging active participation, and contextualizing the practice of zakat for vocational-level students.
