Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of school principals in fostering a religious culture within the school environment and to identify the obstacles and strategies used to overcome them. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation involving principals, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that principals play a central role in shaping a religious culture through exemplary leadership, structured religious policies, and active involvement of the entire school community. Systematically and participatively designed religious programs serve as effective means of instilling religious values in students. The main challenges arise from the lack of awareness among some school members and the influence of external environments that are not conducive. To address these issues, principals employ persuasive, educational, and innovative strategies. The implications of a religious culture are evident in the enhancement of students’ religious character, discipline, social concern, and moral awareness in daily life.
