General Author Guidelines

  1. The Manuscript should be written in Indonesian or English and have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. The Manuscript may take the form of research, case studies, or literary studies.
  3. The author should register as an author. 
  4. he Manuscript will be published in JIEBAR: Journal of Islamic Education: Basic and Applied Research after being reviewed.
  5. The Manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines and Template. The manuscript template can be downloaded here.
Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
Structure of the manuscripts
  1. Title. The title should be short, clear, and informative, but does not exceed 20 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviations. The main ideas should be written first and followed by its explanations.
  2. Author’s names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions, institutions address, and email addresses, without any academic titles and job title.
  3. Abstract. Write abstract in English and Indonesia. Use Garamond 11 for body of the abstract with one spacing between lines, justified, consists of 100-250 words. Inform; the issue, purpose (contains objectives of the research), method (delivers data collection of the research), results of the research (refers to collected data as an effort to answer research question), impact and conclusion (summary of the finding and the result of the research).
  4. Keywords. use Garamond 11, write 3-5 words concepts are core/essential/fundamental from the article, arranged alphabetically.
  5. Introduction. The introduction should briefly place the study in a broad context and highlight why it is important. It should define the purpose of the work and its significance. The current state of the research field should be reviewed carefully, and key publications cited. Please highlight controversial and diverging hypotheses when necessary. Finally, briefly mention the main aim of the work and highlight the principal conclusions. As far as possible, please keep the introduction comprehensible to scientists outside your particular field of research. References should be cited as (Kamba, 2018) or (Marchlewska et al., 2019) or (Cichocka, 2016; Hidayat & Khalika, 2019; Ikhwan, 2019; Madjid, 2002) or (Miller & Josephs, 2009, p. 12) or Rakhmat (1989). See the end of the document for further details on references. Technical terms should be defined. Symbols, abbreviations, and acronyms should be defined the first time they are used. All tables and figures should be cited in numerical order. 
  6. Method. Method consists of description of research type, data collection, data source, data type, and data analysis. It is written in a paragraph form.
  7. Results and Discussion. Results, Inform a number of important data (original) field which obtained from the questionnaires, surveys, documents, interviews, observations and other data collection techniques. It can be completed with table or graphic to clarify the result. All pictures and tables should be centered and numbered consecutively. Tables (refer with: Table 1, Table 2,…) should be presented above the table contain in center alignment. A descriptive title should be placed after table title (refer with: Table 1, table 2,…) above each table. The source of the table should be placed below the table in right alignment. Pictures (refer with: Pictures 1, Pictures 2,…) should be presented below each pictures and followed by the descriptive of the picture. Discussion, Presenting the data that has been interpreted and analyzed by a specific technique and has been processed by the specific theory (also from researcher idea). 
  8. Conslusion.  The conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.
  9. Acknowledgments. It is used as a thanking expression from authors to official institution or persons that act as a donor, or contribute in the research. It is completed by research letter of contract. Example: this research is supported by Ministry of Religious Affair through scheme of Research Excellence grant year 2017 number PUIK-2017-123
  10. References. Write a number of references that are cited and really written/quoted in the text from primary sources, (80% taken from scholarly journals, 20% other supporting sources). Please use APA (American Psychological Association) style sixth edition. We recommend preparing the references with a bibliography software package, such as Mendeley, EndNote, Reference Manager or Zotero to avoid typing mistakes and duplicated references. 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a double-Blind  feer Review have been followed.
 

Copyright Notice

The copyright of the received article shall be assigned to the journal as the publisher. The intended copyright includes the right to publish the article in various forms (including reprints). The journal maintains the publishing rights to the published articles.

Guideline for Online Submission
The author should first register as an Author and be offered as a Reviewer through the following address: https://ejournal.uca.ac.id/index.php/jiebar/user/register The author should fulfill the form as detail as possible where the star marked form must be entered. After all form textboxes are filled, the Author clicks on the Register button to proceed with the registration. Therefore, the Author is brought to the online author submission interface where the Author should click on New Submission. In the Start, a New Submission section, click on Click Here: to go to step one of the five-step submission process. The following are five steps in the online submission process:

1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: The author must check marks on the submission checklists. An author should type or copy-paste the cover letter to Comments for the Editor.

2. Step 2 - Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and choose the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) to be submitted, then click the "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded.

3. Step 3 - Entering Submissions Metadata: In this step, detailed authors' metadata should be entered including the marked corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying the text and paste in the textbox including keywords.

4. Step 4 - Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary files should be uploaded including Covering/Submission Letter. Therefore, click on the Browse button, choose the files, and then click on the Upload button.

5. Step 5 - Confirming the Submission: The author should finally check the uploaded manuscript documents in this step. To submit the manuscript to JIEBAR: Journal of Islamic Education: Basic and Applied Research, click the Finish Submission button after the documents are ready. The corresponding author or the principal contact will receive an acknowledgment by email and will be able to view the progress of the submission through the editorial process by logging in to the journal web address site.

After this submission, Authors who submit the manuscript will get a confirmation email about the submission. Therefore, Authors are able to track their submission status at any time by logging in to the online submission interface. The submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript review and editorial process.
