Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of implementing active learning strategies on students' interest in learning the subject of Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) in class X Science at MA Daar El Huda Curug, Tangerang. A primary challenge in Fiqh education is stimulating student interest to ensure the learning process is meaningful and sustainable. Learning interest serves as a vital indicator of success, reflecting a student's tendency to participate actively in teaching and learning activities. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design to test the influence of the active learning strategy variable (X) on the student learning interest variable (Y). Data were collected through observations and the distribution of Likert scale questionnaires to 60 students in the 10th-grade Science program.

The results indicate that the application of active learning strategies—including game-based learning, marketplace activity, and snowball throwing—has a positive and significant effect on increasing student interest. Students demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the learning process, as reflected by active participation rates, a willingness to ask questions, and effective group collaboration. The average level of student learning interest reached 89%, falling into the "High" category. Furthermore, the implementation of these strategies enhanced teacher-student interaction and encouraged students to think critically and reflectively regarding Fiqh materials. However, certain constraints were identified, such as the limited duration of the Pre-Service Teacher Training (PPL) program and suboptimal learning facilities. Overall, this study confirms that active learning strategies can serve as an effective approach to enhancing student interest in Fiqh within Islamic educational environments.
