IMPLEMENTASI KURIKULUM PONDOK MODERN DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SANTRI

This study aims to describe the implementation of the modern pesantren curriculum in shaping students’ character at Pondok Pesantren Modern Al Hijrah Putri Ngawi. The curriculum integrates the national, diniyah (religious), and pesantren-based programs. A qualitative approach with a case study design was applied, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the curriculum is implemented integratively through formal, non-formal, and daily habituation activities. The formal curriculum focuses on general and religious subjects, while the non-formal program emphasizes character development through worship, Qur’an memorization, scouting, student organizations, and life skills training. Daily routines such as night prayers, dhikr, evening study, and communal service foster discipline, responsibility, and noble character. Although challenges arise from limited teaching staff, the pesantren addresses them through regular evaluations and teacher training. The study concludes that the modern pesantren curriculum effectively builds students’ character holistically, encompassing spiritual, intellectual, social, and life-skill aspects.
