ANALISIS SARAPAN PAGI TERHADAP KONSENTRASI BELAJAR ANAK USIA 4-6 TAHUN

Abstract

This study aims to explore in depth the influence of breakfast habits on the learning concentration of children aged 4–6 years at RA Daaruttuqo Cipondoh Tangerang. The research is motivated by the decreasing learning focus observed in children who skip breakfast before going to school. A qualitative approach was employed using a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, structured interviews with teachers, parents, and children, as well as documentation of learning activities. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the information was strengthened through source, method, and time triangulation strategies. The findings of the study reveal that: (1) the condition of children who eat and do not eat breakfast—those who eat breakfast demonstrate more stable physical and psychological conditions, are more focused, enthusiastic, and actively engaged in learning. In contrast, children who skip breakfast tend to be sleepy, fussy, less responsive, and lack learning enthusiasm. (2) types of breakfast that enhance children’s concentration a nutritious and balanced breakfast consisting of complex carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, and minerals is proven effective in increasing early childhood concentration during learning activities. (3) the role of breakfast in building concentration during learning breakfast habits help to sustain concentration, improve brain performance in learning and thinking processes, and support active involvement of children in various classroom learning activities. Thus, breakfast is proven to play a vital role in supporting children’s learning concentration. This research recommends that parents and educators pay more attention to children's breakfast habits before school as an effort to enhance optimal learning readiness.
