Abstract

This study aims to improve the counting skills of children aged 5-6 years through the use of colored bead media at PAUDQu Darul Miftahil Falahiyah, Tobat Village, Balaraja District. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach based on Kurt Lewin's model, which consists of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 20 children aged 5-6 years. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, with method triangulation used as a validity technique. Data analysis was conducted both qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study showed an improvement in children’s counting skills from the pre-cycle to cycle I, and from cycle I to cycle II.   The use of colored bead media has been proven effective in improving children's counting skills, making the learning process more enjoyable, and helping children understand number concepts concretely. Therefore, colored bead media is recommended as an innovative learning tool to enhance the cognitive abilities of early childhood, particularly in counting.
