ANALISIS PERKEMBANGAN SOSIAL EMOSIONAL PADA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA

The purpose of this study was to determine the socio-emotional development of mentally retarded children, the role of teachers and parents n the social emotional development of mentally retarded children, and providing a stimulus for social emotional development n mentally retarded children at Pelangi Anakku Special School, Sangiang district, Tangerang City. This type of research s qualitative with descriptive qualitative as a research method. 7 Students classified as mild and moderate mentally retarded children, and 4 teachers at the Pelangi Anakku Special School, Sangiang sub-district, Tangerang City. n collecting data, this study used observation and nterviews. There are three stages n the data analysis of this research, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion verification. The results showed that 1. Due to ntellectual limitations, the social-emotional development of mentally retarded children did not develop optimally. 2. The role of teachers and parents s very mportant for the success of children's social emotional development. 3. Giving stimulus to the social and emotional development of mentally retarded children n the form of an approach taken by the teacher and the provision of simple nstructions.
